In days 23th to 25th May 2018 in Brno, Hotel Voronezh I, the 27th Annual International Conference on Metallurgy and Materials will take place. The conference is organized in six symposia - Advanced Iron, Cast-Iron and Steel Processing, Metal Forming, Steel Products and their Properties, Latest Trends in Surface Engineering, Non-Ferrous Metals and alloys and Economics and Management of Metallurgical Production.

As a founding member of the French Federation of Materials (FFM), SF2M is organizing the next Grand Conference Matériaux 2018 to be held in Strasbourg, France from November 19 to 23. The Executive Board of the MRS-Serbia is proud to announce the competition for the Award for a Lasting and Outstanding Contribution to Materials Science and Engineering for 2018.

The Award for a Lasting and Outstanding Contribution to Materials Science and Engineering is awarded by the Materials Research Society of Serbia to the most distinguished scientists for their overall scientific achievements which have contributed significantly to the advancement of this areas of science, the enhancement of university teaching, education of young scientists and upholding the reputation of the Materials Research Society of Serbia. Eligible candidates for the award include scientists from the territory of the former Yugoslavia, as well as scientists of Serbian origin worldwide, involved in research in the area of materials. The award is given to an individual. It was introduced in 2015. Previous laureates are Prof. Dr. Ivan Bozovic (2015), Prof. Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novaković (2016), and Prof. Dr. Velimir Radmilović (2017).

FEMS FP9 Workshop Lausanne

Travel to the Moon – Vision and Mission of Materials Experts

It was a sunny and cold day when 30 experts from universities, research organisations and industry met on November 15, 2017 in Lausanne, Switzerland to discuss a materials vision and mission for the next European Framework Programme 9 (FP9). Invited by the FEMS (Federation of European Materials Societies) and supported by EuMatT(European Technology Platform for Advanced Engineering Materials and Technologies), by EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale Lausanne), MatSearch Consulting Hofmann, Pully Switzerland, and IOM3 (Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining).
